To file an appeal:
Call Aetna Better Health at 1-800-566-6444 and tell them you want to file an appeal. TDD users, call 1-800-613-3087. If you speak another language you can ask for an interpreter at no cost to you. Or you can write: Aetna Better Health of Missouri Appeals Department 10 South Broadway, Suite 1200 St. Louis, MO 63102 Aetna Better Health must make a decision on your appeal within thirty (30) days of receiving it. If you have any additional information you wish to provide that was not included in your original request for an appeal, you may forward it to: Aetna Better Health. Could your health suffer if you wait for our decision? If so, ask for an expedited review. Call QM Appeals Nurse at Aetna Better Health at 1-800-566-6444 and tell what might happen if you don't get a quick decision. The expedited review must be completed within 3 working days. You may also begin an external review at the same time as the internal appeals process if this is an urgent care situation or you are in an ongoing course of treatment.
