Integrated Care Solutions welcomes Dr. Blowey as new medical director

We are pleased to announce Doug Blowey, MD as the Medical Director for Children’s Mercy Integrated Care Solutions (ICS) and its provider networks including the Pediatric Care Network and Children’s Mercy Health Network. He will begin his new role effective February 15, 2016. Dr. Blowey was also named to the new role of Chief Clinical Integration Officer for Children’s Mercy. He provides medical leadership to ICS and its population health initiatives and health system level leadership for Children’s Mercy’s clinical integration initiatives.

Dr. Blowey is a Pediatric Nephrologist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Pharmacology who has been on the faculty at Children’s Mercy Hospital for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas and subsequent pediatric and fellowship training at Children’s Mercy and the Hospital for Sick Children in Ontario, Canada. He is board certified in Pediatric Nephrology and Clinical Pharmacology. He remains clinically active as part of the Nephrology section where he serves as the Director of the Hypertension program. During his tenure at Children’s Mercy, Dr. Blowey has participated in numerous hospital committees and held key leadership roles. He has served as the fellowship director for the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship program, Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee, and as the secretary/treasurer, president-elect, and president of the Medical staff. He is currently the Medical Director for Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas, a role in which he will continue to serve.
